Julia Gebhardt invites to the Charity Auction

We are from Journalism Club and we would like to write about the Charity Auction event because it will be a nice event. It will take place at 4pm to 6pm, on the 11th of December. This event will take place in our school. It will happen because we are buying things and then we are giving this money to a girl with multiple sclerosis, for school no.13 for children who don't have money to buy lunches, and for English club and drama club. It is important for AES, because the children, this girl and clubs don't have money for some things, so we are giving some money to them.

THE AES CHARITY AUCTION IS COMING UP SOON

The Charity Auction, that will take place in school on Wednesday, 11th of December, is coming up soon. The money collected during that day will be donated for English and drama classes for handicaped individuals; Patrycja, a friend of the school who suffers from multiple sclerosis; and lunches for underprivileged students from nearby school no.13.

Mrs. Sylwia Ptach, the Charity Auction organizer, visited our Journalism Club on Tuesday to tell us more about the Auction itself, as well as the current lead-up period when lots of things need to be organized. She asked our team of journalists to write a report from the Charity Auction.

The Auction will not only be attractive for adults but should also be interesting for students and small children who can visit different playrooms open during the Auction. There will also be coffee, tea and homemade cakes. Everyone is invited. We hope to collect as much money as possible and remain a generous, helpful institution.

Interview with Mr. John!

Last week in Journalism Club we interviewed Mr. John Sudar. The interview took place on the first floor in the American Elementary School and went very well. Mr. John and Julia Konefał, who interviewed him, sat in front of the window with a beautiful, wide view. The interview is ready for you to read on our blog: just go to AES Special Interests (to your right) and click AES Interviews

Below a fragment from the interview:

"Julia Konefał: Why do you wear long hair and beard?
Mr. John Sudar: Huh! That's a good question. I guess it just suits me. I never really thought about it actually. Good question!

J.K.:How do you make everybody in the school like you?
J.S.: Well! I'm not sure everybody in the school likes me! But I'll speak generally: I think people generally respond to positive people. You know... there are people who walk around, with a cloud above their heads, they always look at the bad side of things, and I think that such people are not very popular. I think that people that see the good side of things, have the optimistic attidute, are the ones who are popular, so like I say: I'm not sure everyone in the school likes me, but i guess I am popular, because I'm a positive person.

J.K. Yes you are very popular!
J.S. Thank you."
